A Design Expedition
I set sails for a design expedition to Greenland. Not to conquer, but to sense and discover.
The goal of the design expedition is to research how a group of Greenlandic people relate practically, bodily and in their mindset to nature. And to develop a research method that, through materiality, exposes physical and metaphysical ties to the landscape.
In Greenland I found an organ that I did not know of before. An organ that ties man and landscape together in a dynamic exchange of strength. An organ as ghostly as an idea and yet as corporeal as a set of lungs.
By materialising this organ I raise the question of how the landscape in which we move produces us as human beings and how we produce our landscape.
