Invisible Masks (There's something about having two faces)
The project is a playing ground for material exploration. The outcome is a textile collection for women’s wear, executed into a collection of garments. I wanted to study how the balance of conscious controlling of your image can behave and interpret that into artwork and textiles. Balance between different elements was in the focus throughout the whole journey. I wanted to examine the tension between two sides of the same thing and how the balance is between the surface and the depths, outside and inside, false and true and what happens when you blend the sides. The main focus on the collection is in the interaction of the materials –basic forms and formats have given space for the abilities of material, simple prints and application of colour gives the viewer more space and calm to focus on the material’s nature.
