illusions - knitwear meets technology
MA COLLECTION CONCEPT:
My graduate collection focus on illusions, from optical art to anamorfose. My concept is about playing with various visual angles and illusion in the techniques that I use. Using this method I have developed advanced knitted techniques on industrial knitting machines and by hand knitting, and then created a wearable womenswear collection.
Industrial Designer with Cabinet-Maker Background
Jonas Søndergaard Nielsen started out his journey into the world of design as a cabinet-maker for JC-snedkeri in Rødovre, Denmark. As a young apprentice, he showed great skills as he won 1st price in the Nordic and the Danish national Championship of cabinet-making.
