A perspective on feminine expressions
BA womenswear collection
The theme for my bachelor project arises from the word femininity and examines and challenges the feminine expression of women’s clothing. The collection is inspired by the 18th-century French rococo style, known for it’s rich decorations and the naive attitude in Sofia Coppola’s movie Marie Antoinette.
The intention was to create a playful concept and reinterpret feminine stereotypical elements. The collection is based on humorous effects and references of the pomposity that the rococo style is known for, through surface embellishments, laser cut, knitting and tufting.
