description

This is an attempt to create a modern ritual space within a piece of furniture for repetivie actions to take place. And literally creating a frame that will praise a, maybe trivial but yet ritual action. Making an everyday-ritual a little more noticeable.

SPACES WITH SPECIAL MEANING
The room has a special meaning and is encoded with specific actions to be performed in a certain way - rituals - and already the room becomes a ritual space. The space that is most often associated with rituals, are religious spaces, but rituals are not only connected to religions, because we perform ritual acts all the time without even noticing.

THE ACTIONS IN THE RITUAL SPACE
The ritual space is designed to get us to follow certain patterns of behavior or cause us to react in a certain way.
When you enter a room you more or less get a sense (perhaps quite unconsciously) that there are certain standards for what you can and cannot do in this specific room.
You enter a frame.

Rituals give meaning to life with their emphasis on shared values and creates a whole through their (often) symbolic form, and pulls us out of the everyday / the trivial.

A chair is a very powerfull symbol in it self. It is a design object with so many different qualities - involving the human body,
surroundings and context.
