The Yellow Wallpaper
For my final project in year 2 (BA6) I chose to illustrate 'The Yellow Wallpaper' by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
I chose 'The Yellow Wallpaper' as it is a short story which I studied as part of my A Level coursework on feminism and it has always stuck out to me as a story with a lot of visual impact and eeriness.
I wanted to capture key themes to the story such as loneliness, entrapment, madness, self expression, isolation and fear. Through a lot of experimentation I concluded with photographic, 3d imagery and some experimental short films, as well as a final book which I featured my images in to accompany the text.
